Hey Over Achievers!

Last weekend was a MEGA weekend as we had the Time Spiral pre- release for MTG and the YGO Winter Regionals. Being the professionals we are, Vickey and I keep ourselves in tip top physical condition to cope with such occasions. Field Commander Foggo, however, kept the paramedics on their toes with several little turns resulting from excess cigarette and lard intakes, severly affecting his performances. But luckily with a red hot team of assisitants(Lindsay, Ryan, Graham, Nathan, Jacob and Mistress of Lerve Vickey Obiwan got through without taking up much needed space in an emergency ward. And thanks to Andrew Li and Marc Losper who did a fine job running YGO Regionals at SGC on Sunday. These guys do an awesome job everytime they are asked and have our thanks.

DREAMBLADE COLLECTABLE MINIS GAME

Making it 2 in a row Tina Voss went 3 blot to win last Thursday nights DREAMBLADE Edge tournament, disruption 7 other players to the far edges of the Dreamscape. Great work Tina!

Dreamblade is a fun minis game. Its new, growing and WOTC has commited heavily to organised play already. If you'd like a demo cruise in anytime, if you'd like to play a tournament before you buy, we got pieces we can lend you!

HEROCLIX COLLECTABLE MINIS GAME

It was Gamescape general manager Neil Moreton who went 3-0 losing just 2 pieces in 3 games who won last Sundays Heroclix event, using 13 Penguins! Great work Neil(and Oswald). This Sundays event is once again very funny, details as follows:

Then the Sunday after we've got 400 pt ring madness! All figures must have the same colour ring(rookie, experienced or vet)

Clix is very funny. Its a cool game that plays well casually or competitively.Its how Obiwan and I solve managerial disputes, and because I always win is probably why our store is still solvent(and we don't have a ferris wheel in the back car park)If you'd like to try, cruise in anytime for a demo, or pop in Sunday and see how its supposed to be done.

HORRORCLIX COLLECTABLE MINIS GAME

The funky new game from Wizkidz is out and has sold out worldwide! We still got a few packs, with hopefully more on the way. We're running weekly Horrorclix events on Friday nights at 7pm, details as follows:

Format: 400 pt constructed

MAGIC THE GATHERING COLLECTABLE CARD GAME

Like I said earlier, the Time Spiral pre-release was held last weekend in the City, Lidcombe and in Gosford to near record levels of attendence. The Time Shifted cards were very popular, but the all round balance and playability of the new expansion was what had most players excited. This weekend we're running our Sneak Peeks over all 3 days of the long weekend, details as follows:

When: Saturday 30th September, Sunday October 1st and Monday October
2nd. 10.30am rego 11am start all 3 days
Format: Time Spiral sealed(you get a Timespiral tournament pack and 2 boosters to make a 40 card minimum deck with)
Entry: $35 per event
Prizes: TONNES of boosters to top 16 at least, everyone wins a booster per day at least! Plus play all 3 days and win a T-Shirt and waterbottle, plus an extra 3 boosters!

If you play in a Sneak Peek you also get a $20 discount into the Sydney Grand Prix the following weekend, plus have a MEGA chance to practice!

The Time Spiral Sneak Peeks also mark the start of our 2006-2007 Player of the Year Championship! Each month we'll run PotY events where the top 8 players will accumulate points. At the end of 12 months the top 8 will play duplicate sealed for the trophy and an air ticket to the next Grand Prix in Australia! So get your PotY campaign off to a strong start, plus have fun and win HEAPS of boosters, plus warm up for The Sydney Grand Priz, cruise into our Sneak Peeks!

There will be last minute grinders for 3 byes starting from Noon Friday 6th October till late, booster drafts on demand plus a full range of side event over the whole weekend! MECHWARRIOR COLLECTABLE MINIS GAME

Wolfstrike is IN!!! This set looks VERY sexy and each booster now has 2 mechs. The new set will go for $22 a booster or $480 a case! We play MW each Friday night from about 7pm. Its free, casual and HEAPS of fun! We have some Mech boosters for $10 each, so if you're looking to get into this cool CMG cruise in on a Friday and check out how its done!

POKEMON COLLECTABLE CARD GAME

SGC would like to extend a BIG thank you to Steffanie Saw who took over Mistress of Lerves Vickeys job in running our Pokemon league on Sunday. Stef did a fine job running things.

Our Pokemon players, especially the new ones, LOVE the new league format and the fun way Mistress of Lerve Vickey runs things, plus EVERYONE wins a prize. You get points for not only how many games you win, but how many games you play, puzzles you solve and tasks you complete-its HEAPS of fun! Leagie kicks off at Noon each Sunday and goes till around 3.30pm. Its just $5 entry and everyone wins a prize!

Next Sunday there is a shopping mall tour and its coming to Westfield Burwood! Cruise down mid morning and join in the fun, they'll be lots of prizes and giveaways and cute creatures to be had!

STAR TREK SECOND EDITION COLLECTABLE CARD GAME

Well, Kieren the Klingon had a complete castastrophy last Sunday, his unbeatable Federation deck not able to win a game! Gideons Borg and Shannons Deep Space Nine teams absolutely shredded Picard and his band of underachieving goobers, with Shannon going on to win her first ever tournament! Great work Shannon!

Another boutique expansion-Dangerous Missions, was just released and the cards are AWESOME! We're having a Dangerous Missions draft tournament October 15th, so keep that date free! The game is SOOOOO good I can't get enough, and having weekly events means I get to play LOTS of different decks. If you'd like a demo cruise in anytime for a game. It is great, especially if you like the TV series.

VS(Marvel & DC)COLLECTABLE CARD GAME

Ok tightwearers, lots of BIG events happening in the land of VS, with the Melbourne 10K on October 21 & 22 and Sydney 10K Dec 2 & 3! Plus an uber announcement that will make EVERYONE happy-Sydney is getting a Pro Circuit event!!! For more info on the announcement check the announcement on Metagame

Upperdeck will be running HEAPS of VS learn to play demos at Supanova Oct 28 & 29th, plus you can always pop into SGC for a game anytime. Plus don't forget we do Hobby League drafts every Tuesday night from 6pm(last week drafts were won by Jonathan Luey and Alex Antonies), Hobby League Silver Age constructed 7pm each Friday night, SIlver Age Saturdays each Saturday arvo at 1.30pm and a bonus VS draft night each Thursday from 6.30pm.

VS is a top game. UDE do wonders supporting it and that Sydney is hosting a Pro Circuit event March next year is confirmation that they respect and want to look after the Australian player base. If you'd like a demo, cruise in anytime for a game.

WARHAMMER 40K AND FANTASY MINIS GAME

The new revised rules for Fantasy, Battle for Skull Pass, has come in and we're selling HEAPS of the revised rules and the base set, which is now priced down to an excellent $85 entry point. We have a big box full of terrain and we're not afraid to use it, so if you'd like a game cruise in anytime. We also can set up a paint table for those looking to snaz up their armies. Most Sundays there is 2-3 casual games going on, if you're looking for a game, cruise in on Sunday, its free and you'll meet like minded players and have fun.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT COLLECTABLE CARD GAME

The exciting new ccg from UPPERDECK entertainment-World of Warcraft- hits the town October 24th. However, UDE have released online downloads of a couple of starters and boosters interested parties can print out to have a muck around with the game and see how it plays. The printout decks have been so popular that we're running a virtual league for WoW ccg each Thursday night. Details as follows:

Prizes: The winner of the league wins a BOX of WOW boosters when it goes on sale!! This is a great way to become familiar with WoW and maybe win a box of boosters to start your collection!

YUGIOH COLLECTABLE CARD GAME

Alex Antonies won last Saturdays open hobby league event, whilst Chester Swords and Matt Chau both went 4-0 in the 14 and under event to split the winnings, fine dueling guys! On Sunday it was our September Winter Regionals and Guan Zhizao powered through a well established top 8 to smash his way to a Nationals 2007 invite. Well done Guan!

YGO hobby league is on again this Saturday 9.30am-1pm. Entry is just $5 with everyone winning a prize, and we run 2 events, open and 14 and under concurrently.

And the next Yugioh expansion, Cyberdark Impact, is coming to Sydney November 4th & 5th! Details for the Sneak Preview as follows:
