NEWSLETTER - 21/12/06

Hey Raindeer Breeders,

It is a fine time of year to catch up with family and friends, have
nice things to eat and drink, laugh lots and generally enjoy life.
So thats what we're wishing for all of our customers, suppliers and
friends. If you travel, travel safe and sensibly, eat too much, and
laugh like its the last chance ever.

For all those who are free Saturday night we're having our Christmas
party as usual at the Wentworth Park Greyhounds! Its about $7 to get
in, is heaps of fun, and Obiwan Foggobi will be on hand to tell you
his tips all night long, which makes picking the winner easier. All
are welcome, its a fun night. We may even go out partying later...

Sydney Games Centre will be open everyday except the following:

Monday 25th December
Tuesday 26th December
Monday 1st January

We're also closing at 6pm Saturday 23rd December, as its our
Christmas party and we're going to travel safely to somewhere where
we will eat too much, drink too much and laugh like its our last
chance ever...

Finally on the festive season, we have 3 friends who are celebrating
Christmas overseas. Tony Chung, Dave Cornford and Bronniw Bruce are
all having a blast abroad, the way it should be, but we wish they
were with us, so Merry Xmas guys, have a good one and take care.

There is a normal program of events on this weekend, cruise in and
have some fun!

MAGIC THE GATHERING TRADING CARD GAME

The Sydney 500 is just over a week away, and so far Clarrie Brown
has free entry and The Mighty Allan Sharpe has a round 1 bye! This
Friday night at FNM the winner will join The Mighty Allan Sharpe in
the coffee lounge during round 1 for the Sydney 500, as well as
winning the foil Fire/Ice and boosters! And on SUnday we're having
our second Sydney 500 warm up where apart from boosters and fun the
winner will receive FREE ENTRY into the 500! Details as follows:

When: Sunday 24th December. 11am rego, 11.30am start
Format: Standard Type 2
Entry: $10
Prizes: Winner gets free entry into Sydney 500, plus boosters and a
fun day of playing type 2. Boosters to top 8 at least, plus t-shirts
and arena league promo cards up as prizes.

Then Saturday December 30th we're running the 5th Annual Sydney
500!!! This is the biggest, longest running independant MTG in NSW
and always brings a great crowd of players chasing the $500 of cold
hard cash! Details as follows:

When: Saturday 30th December. 10am rego 10.30am start
Format: Standard Type 2
Entry: $20
Prizes: $500 cash plus trophy to the winner!!! Boosters to top 16 at
least plus a fun day of playing high level MTG in a big event!

And finally on MTG don't forget we're running our $12 drafts each
Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6pm, School Holiday tournaments
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1pm and of course Friday Night
Magic each Friday Night at 6pm.

VS(Marvel & DC)TRADABLE CARD GAME

HEAPS happening with VS at the moment. Tommorrow is our first Friday
school holiday tournaments! Registration is a 1pm for a 1.30pm
start, its Golden Age, $5 entry and has boosters, t-shirts and
decktins up a prizes.

These events are for fun and to encourage new players to have a go,
either with their own deck or we can lend a store deck out for you
to try. Pro Circuit player Chris "Fearsome Five" Foggin and
Honest "Arkham" Otto will be on hand to give play tips, deck advise
and generally make the day as fn and smooth as possible. It's also
UDE sanctioned so you can work on your ranking.

And Saturday after YUGIOH we're running a learn to play day! Details
as follows:

When: Saturday 23rd December. From 1.30pm till 6pm
Format: Fun!
Entry: Free!
Prizes: You get to learn a fun CCG which has insane prize support
(UDE are bringing a Pro Circuit event worth 250K US to Sydney in
March!)plus meet new gamers.

That afternoon around 4pm we're running a new players sealed
tournament. So you can use your new found playskills to play your
first sanctioned event and win prizes REALLY cheaply! Details as
follows:

When: Saturday 23rd December. 4pm-6pm
Format: Sealed(you get 5 boosters of your choice to make a 30 card
minimum deck with)
Entry: Just $15 for your 5 packs!!!
Prizes: Winner gets a JLA or Avengers gift tin set worth $50! Plus
boosters to other players(everyone will win a prize)to get you're VS
career off to a flying start

Don't forget our weekly drafts each Tuesday and Thursday nights from
6pm and our FUN VS hobby league tournament each Friday night at 7pm,
plus our Silver Age Saturdays each Saturday arvo from 1.30pm

And finally things for the diary. Australia Day the 26th January
we're running the 3rd annual Australia Day Cup(Golden Age)where the
winner will take home 3 displays of boosters! January 28th we're
running a funky fun tournament were you can only use certain teams,
and March 1-4 its Pro Circuit Sydney! PC Sydney will be awesome,
with over 250K in US dollars up for grabs. The time to learn VS is
now, its a fun game, boosters are now cheaper, prize support is
CRAZY, big events are everywhere and the VS playing community is one
of the nicest groups around. So join in!!!

YUGIOH COLLECTABLE CARD GAME

Well done to up and coming YGO duelist Chester Swords who won our
first BIG School Holidays tournament last Tuesday at SGC. Its on
again as we speak today, and on again next Thursday(we're closed
next Tuesday-Boxing Day)

Our next Regionals will be an 8 slot qualifier!!! Details as follows:

When: Sunday 21st January. 10am rego, 10.30am start
Format: Advanced Constructed
Entry: $15
Prizes: Winner receives a box of YGO! Top 8 receive invite to the
2007 Yugioh Nationals in Sydney June 9 & 10, plus boosters down to
top 24 at least!

Angus Reoch won the Winter Regionals on Sunday, beating 45 other
duelists for the slot-well done Angus! Angus joins an elite club of
players already qualified for the Nats 6 months out!

And don't forget our brilliant weekly YGO Hobby League tournaments
each Saturday at SGC. Rego is at 9.30am for a 10am start and
finishes at 1pm. Entry is $5 with everyone winning a prize, plus
you're welcome to hang out at SGC after the tournament and play,
trade or learn a new game.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT COLLACTABLE CARD GAME

In some of the BIGGEST news since the games inception UDE have
announce the dates and formats for the first WoW Regionals! Its an
international date and time, in Sydney that means the following:

When: Saturday 13th January. 9am rego, 10am start
Format: Standard Constructed(best of 3 rounds)
Entry: $15
Prizes: Top 4 get invited to the WoW Nationals!Heaps of exclusive
Regionals only promotional gear up as prizes, plus boosters and a
fun day of running amok around Azeroth!

For those who are fans of sealed events, we run WOW drafts each
Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6pm. Its $25 for a draft set of 4
and its HEAPS of fun. And to make things even better we have our WoW
Hobby League kits in!!! So our Saturday afternoon hobby league now
has HL prize support, and it looks sexy! Entry is just $6, its from
1.30pm-5pm Saturday, with Hobby league promos and boosters up as

NARUTO COLLECTABLE CARD GAME

GUESS WHAT!!! The new expansion-Coils of the Snake-IS IN!!! And you
can use the new cards this Saturday at our weekly Naruto tournament!
We play Naruto each Saturday arvo at 2pm till 5pm. Entry is just $6
with everyone winning a prize. And Naruto starts on free to air tele
early next year!

To celebrate the arrival of the new set, we're having a sealed
release tournament for it in the new year. Details as follows:

Coils of the Snake Release Tournament!

When: Saturday 6 January. 2pm rego, 2:30 start.
What: Sealed. Each player gets 5 boosters of Coils of the Snake to
build their best possible 30 card deck with. You may have more than
25 ninja and you may have more than 3 copies of each card. Play til
one person gets 7 battle rewards.
Entry: $35
Prizes: Everyone is guaranteed one booster of Naruto base set,
regardless of how they go. Coils of the Snake boosters will be used
as additional prizes for the top players.

Naruto is a top anime and the game is very, very good. Mistress of
Lerve Vickey is now in charge of organised play in Australia so you
know the prize support will be AWESOME! Plus ratings will be done by
region, not nationally, so you could be the top ranked ninja in your
village!

POKEMON COLLECTABLE CARD GAMEPokemon league is on again this Sunday
from noon. Because its a
league you don't need to be right on time, and you can leave
whenever you like. Its up to you who you play against, the quest is
on to get league points which you can redeem for POP packs and
bagdes.

There will be a special Pokemon tournament during the school
holidays to help you while away the hours!
When: Wednesday, 12pm rego, 12:30 start during the school holidays.
What: Constructed tournament. Bring your best 60-card deck and play!
Entry: $6
Prizes: We'll open one booster per player and you can draft the
rares based on where you finish.

The Pokemon City Challenge dates have also been announced! The
Pokemon City Challenge in Sydney will be January 21st! Details as
follows:

When: Sunday, 21 January. 12 noon.
Format: Modified Constructed
Entry: FREE!!!!
Prizes: Age group medals, badges and HEAPS of boosters up as prizes

HEROCLIX COLLECTABLE MINIATURES GAME

Yep-Clix is on again this Sunday, even though it is Xmas eve! Format
is 400 point constructed with all your pieces having to have red and
green in their colours! The event kicks off at 2pm, entry is just $5

Then on New Years Eve we want to get out on time and watch the
fireworks, so its 100 point armies. As usual its 2pm start, $5 entry

STAR WARS COLLECTABLE MINIATURES GAME

Well done James Clifton who won last Tuesdays Star Wars minis
tournament! James beat the always competitive Grant McEnvoy in the
final.

Star Wars is a lot of fun. We play each Tuesday night at 6.30pm, its
FREE and is DCI sanctioned. Thanks to the very fit Ron Tierney from
WOTC we have prize support, so what are you waiting for??? A fun,
cheap way to spend a Tuesday night!

DREAMBLADE COLLECTABLE MINIATURES GAME

The funky game that is Dreamblade miniatures is on again tonight in
the form of an Edge tournament(there are people playing as we
speak).Its DCI sanctioned, entry is $5 with everyone winning a
prize. These tournaments allow Dreambladers to build up their Edge
points that they can cash in at 1K events-plus they are fun!

In fine news the next expansion for Dreamblade is coming soon!
Chryosotic Plague is out late January and we're running a release
event for it! Details as follows:

Chryosotic Plauge Release Tournament

When: Thursday, 25 January. 6:30 rego, 7pm start.
What: Chryosotic Plague Constructed. Get two boosters of the new set
to build your best warband with.
Entry: $35
Prizes: Cracked boosters and limited edition promo figures.

Dreamblade is HEAPS of fun, and Baxars War, the second expansion,
has some of the best looking figures ever made. If you'd like a demo

LAST CHANCE CHRISTMAS PREZZIES!

We sold a LOT of trumps last week, but still have some more to go.
Great titles, great stocking fillers and they're just $5. Boardgames
still continue to attract a MEGA discount, and for the DM's in the
world there is heaps of dirt cheap modules and source books in our
bargin box.

Whatever happens this festive season, try to make it safe, happy and
healthy so we can cruise into the New Year with lots of cool stories
