Well, our Movember Mo's are starting to hit critical mass, with
Kieren, Chris & Tony all being offered roles in low budget films
over the last 7 days(only Field Commander Foggo has accepted). They
are getting very, very bushie, and a touch sophisticated if you ask
some of the lady shoppers to SGC. To help keep them growing , and to
help out a very good cause, please donate some spare change into our

This weekend sees a LOT of big events coming, details as follows:

MAGIC THE GATHERING TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Last Sunday we held a PTQ warm up event and after 5 rounds of sealed
funkiness it was MTG guru Vutti Sok who stood victorious. Great work
Vutti! The event was well patronized by lots of new players, so it
goes to show that Lorwyn is very much an every players set.

This Sunday is the big one, its PTQ Kuala Lumpa! Its sealed, it will
be fun, details as follows:

PRO TOUR KUALA LUMPA QUALIFIER

When: Sunday 25 November. 10 am rego, 10.30am start
Where: Burwood RSL
96 Shaftesbury Rd, Burwood NSW
Format: Lorwyn Sealed
Cost: $40
Prize: First wins airfare to PT Kuala Lumpur, and heaps of boosters
are up, even to those outside the top 8.

Everyone will win at least 1 booster just for coming along, plus you
get to keep all the cards in your deck. Its great fun, its great
value and it has great prizes, so what are you waiting for???

The following Sunday, due to popular demand, we're running a Legacy
tournament! This is for all the crusty MTG veterans who pine for the
old days of Strip Mines and Crystal Golems(well I do anyway),
details as follows:

MTG LEGACY TOURNAMENT

When: Sunday December 2. 11am rego, 11.30am start
Format: Legacy (that's all the old cards, all the new cards, except
cards on the Legacy banned and restricted list)
Entry: Just $10
Prizes: Apart from a fun afternoon of playing the old cards and the
funky combos, Arena League promos and boosters are up as prizes

And don't forget we have amazing $12 drafts each Thursday from 5pm
Onwards(last night won by Kenny Nguyen), Friday Night Magic each
Friday night at 6.30pm(type 2 $6-last Friday won by Kenny Nguyen as
well!),
S.A.T 14 and under Magic 2pm Saturday, entry $6, last Saturday won
by Andrew, and $2
tournaments Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays during the school
holidays.

MTG is a great game. We have a comprehensive range of starters,
boosters, theme decks and singles available, and Obiwan and I have
both been playing MTG at various levels for over 10 years each, so
we'd be happy to sit down and show you how its done.

YUGIOH TRADEABLE CARD GAME

I'm afraid I can't remember who won last Saturdays 2 YGO Hobby
League events last weekend, but I do remember Edmund Deng went 3-1
in the open tournament after being bumped up from the 13 & under
event for being too good! Well done Edmund. And the killer team of
Ted Cho and Luke Jones, known as the Teddy Bears, won our Saturday
afternoon 2 player teams tournament. Well done guys!

This Saturday Hobby League and the 2 Player teams tournaments are on
again. Entry is $5 per player for all 3, all 3 are UDE sanctioned
and everyone wins a prize.

On Sunday is a major tournament, it's a Pharoahs Tour Qualifier, and
details are as follows:

NOVEMBER PHAROAHS TOUR QUALIFIER

When: Sunday 25th November. 10am registration, 10.30am start
Format: Advanced Constructed
Entry: $15
Prizes: Winner receives a box of YGO boosters plus an invite to the
Pharaohs Tour in Sydney next January, where the winner of that event
receives a laptop, 1 of every YGO expansion ever printed, and the
Golden Sarcophagus card. What an event! Boosters for the qualifier
go way down(everyone wins at least 1 booster just for playing), top
8 win boosters plus a Champions Pack, plus a fun day of high level
dueling are also up as prizes.

Yugioh is a phenomenon. Its fun, easy to play, huge player base of
all ages and we have Structure Decks, boosters and singles
available. If you'd like to give it a try cruise in on a Saturday
and we'll get someone to show you how its done.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Last Sunday we had our March of the Legionaries Release Celebration
draft tournament and after 6 rounds Big Kon K and Louis Armstrong
both stood tall at 5-1. Great game guys. Everyone is raving about
the new set and how good it is, particularly the new 19 card packs
which make drafting now doable with just 3 boosters! We are drafting
WOW, with just 3 packs, each Thursday night from around 6.30pm, or
whenever we get just 4 players, we'll get it happening.

And on regular WOW events, we run WOW Hobby League each Saturday
afternoon from 2pm. Entry is just $6 with boosters and Hobby League
promos up as prizes.

We just got a MEGA supply of WOW singles in from the second and
third sets, plus March of the Legionaries starters and boosters came
in yesterday, so if you're after some singles, or to pick up the new
set, both are now available!

WOW is a fine TCG. 6 AU players fly out to San Diego Monday to
represent Australia in the World Championships December 1 & 2(as
does New Zealander James White, one of the best guys you could ever
hope to meet). To all those going, good luck, do us proud with both
play skills and sportsmanship, and most importantly travel safe.

THE SPOILS TRADEABLE CARD GAME

The newest big tradeable card game is growing momentum with lots of
people learning how to play. It is so easy to grasp most folks are
making informed, strategic decisions by about turn 3, and giving me
a severe kicking around turn 7 or 8. For all those who have had a
demo we are drafting on Saturday afternoon around 2pm, details as
follows:

THE SPOILS TCG DRAFT

When: Saturday 24th November(and every Saturday). 2pm rego,
2.15pmish start
Format: Draft (you get 3 boosters to draft and make your best 45
card deck with)
Entry: Just $15
Prizes: Drafts picks, plus promos, are up as prizes, plus the games
are sanctioned by Tenacious so you can start working on your
ranking. PLUS, the game is THE NUTS to draft. It is SOOO good its
not funny.

And if you're not up for drafting cruise in Saturday afternoon with
a constructed deck and they'll be someone here to give you a game,
if we get 4 players we'll even sanction it and put some promos up as
prizes!

Then on Sunday from 2pm we're having a learn to play afternoon,
where if you beat the demoer you get a booster FREE! This is very
convenient timing as the next weekend is our BIG Win a Wii sealed
tournament on the Saturday and the $500 constructed tournament on
the Sunday! Details as follows:

When: Saturday 1st December. 10.30am rego, 11am start
Format: Sealed(you get a tournament pack and 2 boosters to crack and
make a 45 card minimum deck with)
Entry: $40
Prizes: Winner gets a Nintendo Wii! Top 8 draft on Sunday at 11am to
find out who is the champ! Boosters and a fun day of playing The
Spoils sealed up as prizes.

Then on the Sunday for all those who don't make top 8 we're running
a $500 constructed tournament! Details as follows:

When: Sunday 2nd December. 11.30am rego, Noon start
Format: Constructed
Entry: $20
Prizes: Winner takes home $250!!! Runner up $150, 3rd and 4th $50
each! plus heaps of boosters up as prizes for the rest of the field.

The following week(Sunday December 9th) we're running another sealed
win a box tournament for people to warm up for the Good Games win a
Wii December 15 & 16th

The Spoils is fantastic. Its a great TCG that has overcome a lot of
problems other TCG's sometimes experience. The cards look great, the
flavour text is funny and the gameplay rocks, with the ability to
spend 3 resourses at anytime to draw a card you always have LOTS of
options open. If you'd like a demo cruise in anytime, the next set
will be in Australia in January and the release events will have a
Nintendo DS up as first prize!

STAR WARS MINIAUTRES

The new expansion, Force Unleashed, is now in store and selling well
(we're nearly out). To celebrate its release we're having a sealed
tournament next Tuesday night, details as follows:

When: Tuesday 27th November. 6pm rego, 6.30pmish start
Format: Sealed(you get 1 boosters of FU to crack and make a 100
point army with)
Entry: $35
Prizes: Promos figures and cracked boosters up as prizes, plus a fun
evening of playing Star Wars minis!

POKEMON TRADEABLE CARD GAME

It's a BIG Pokemon weekend this weekend as it's the kick off of the
new Elite Beats series! This is a more competitive way to play
Pokemon, so we'll see how it goes, but it's a well designed series
and Vickey is playing, so it should be great! Details as follows:

When: Saturday 24 November.
What: Bring a deck of 60 legal cards and play!
Entry: $12
Prizes: There will be a two-booster per player prize pool--everyone
will get at least one booster and the rest will be divvied up
amongst the top performers. Everyone will get points towards earning
that $100 at the end of the three months

Plus don't forget our more fun, laid back Pokemon league each Sunday
from Noon till around 3.30pm. Entry is just $6 and everyone wins a
prize.

NARUTO TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Naruto is still a fun funky game and we play each Saturday arvo at
2pm. Entry is just $6 and everyone wins a prize.

And in some great news the latest expansion, Eternal Rivalry, is now
in stock! And to celebrate we're having a release tournament
December 2nd, details as follows:

When: Sunday 2 December. 12pm rego.
Format: Sealed Eternal Rivalry.
Entry: $30
Prizes: A two-booster per player prize pool, everyone will get at
least one booster with more going to the top.

We have lots of starters, boosters and singles for Naruto available
for sale, cruise in and have a try.

STAR TREK 2ND EDITION TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Last Sunday we ran a tournament and after traveling at warp speed
all afternoon Dennis Lee won on a count back to take home the
complete set of Premier Edition! Mike came in second and Scott lost
out on the countback to finish third. Our next scheduled constructed
event is December 9th, more details next week. And finally for this
week don't forget the BIG Trek Xmas party Decmember 23 when we run
our Quantum Crack tournament! Details as follows:

TREK QUANTUM CRACK TOURNAMENT

When: Sunday 23rd December. 12.30pm registration, 1pm start
Format: Sealed-players get 1 Premier Edition starter/booster combo
box to crack and make a 35 card minimum draw deck and 20 card
minimum dilemma pile with(that's right, you crack the BOX!)
Entry: Just $50
Prizes: Winner gets a t-shirt and boosters from the new set.
Everyone wins boosters, and everyone gets to live the dream and
crack a whole box of cards to crack and play. I can't wait, this
will be awesome!

And don't forget our weekly gathering of Trek players Tuesday nights
from around 6pm onwards where you can just cruise in, have a game or
2, talk Trek tech, trade and generally chill out with the knowledge
you play one of the best TCG's ever made.

Trek is flat out a great game. I love it, and had the time of my
life going to Indianapolis in August to play the world
championships. If you'd like a game cruise in pretty much anytime
and Foggo the Ferengi or Kieren the Klingon will show you how its
done.

STAR WARS POCKET MODELS COLLECTABLE MINIATURES GAME

Just making all those Star Wars goobers aware we have the new
expansion Ground Assault and the new tin set Battle of Hoth
available in store and they look great. We have a dabble of pocket
models every now and then on a Tuesday night, if you'd like to have
a game or 2 bring your collection in then and we'll put the word out.

NEW IN STORE: LOTS! The new VS TCG boutique expansion, Galactus, is
in and looks VERY VERY sexy! The Star Wars pocket model expansion
and tin, as mentioned above, are also new and look great. We have
The Spoils TCG pre-cons back in stock after running out again, as
well as more of those cool card backed sleeves they have. The new
Yugioh tins- "Rainbow Dragon', `Volcanic Doomfire" and "Elemental
Hero Plasma Vice" are also in stock and are very, very shiny. The
new Heroclix expansion Mutations and Monsters is also now in stock,
which will cause much rejoicing in the Heroclix community. And as
mentioned earlier the new WOW TCG expansion, March of the
Legionaries, is in with both new starter decks and boosters.
