Hey Stache Growers!

Mo’vember is here, and as expected Field Commander Foggo is using
the rules to their full extent. The man refused to shave from last
Thursday, giving him 7 days head start. And, I must say, that head
start is proving 2 things to me. Firstly, EB has NO morals
whatsoever, and secondly, his rapid facial hair growth is further
evidence that he is in some way related to The Missing Link.

A new months sees 2 NEW expansions for 2 of our biggest games
emerging, plus the beginning of organized play for a hot new game,
and qualifiers for MTG. Details for all this and more right below!

NEW IN STORE: The PS3 game, EYE OF JUDGEMENT, is the latest in funky
games technology, and Sydney Games Centre now has starters and
boosters available for it. They are $5 a pack, or $18 a theme deck,
and a box of 36 boosters is $150.

YUGIOH TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Well done to Frank Xia in the 13 and unders for going 6-0 in
Saturdays Hobby League, earning him boosters and a bump up to opens.
I can’t remember who won opens, but they beat a field of 23, so they
must have played well.

Hobby League is on again this Saturday from 10am-1pm. Entry is just
$5, its UDE sanctioned and everyone wins a prize. Then Saturday
afternoons we’re running 2 player teams tournaments from 1.30pm.
They are just $5 per player, they are also sanctioned and prizes go
out to the top teams.

Then this Sunday we’re running a release celebration for the brand
new Yugioh expansion, Gladiators Assault! Details as follows:

We only have enough stock for 24 players per event, so if you’d like

still can come along on the day and take your chances if you haven’t
pre-registered, and if we do sell out we’re running a fun event for
all those who miss out. Its called Chaos sealed and it is very

Yugioh is rocking! We have another Phaorohs Mall tour qualifier
November 25th , a pumping range of structure decks and boosters, 3
big singles folders and a mega playing community. If you’d like a
see how its done, cruise in on a Saturday and we’ll show you how its
done!

MAGIC THE GATHERING TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Last Sunday was the NSW State Championships and after 6 rounds and a
top 8 play-off Garry Wong was crowned 2007 NSW State Champion!
Great work Garry, a long time tier 1 MTG player.

After the high level event of the NSW State Champs, we’re doing
things a little crazier this Sunday with a Ravinica Iron Man Sealed
tournament! Details as follows:

RAVNICA IRON MAN

When: Sunday 4 November. 11 am rego.
Format: Ravnica Block Sealed Iron Man and Free Dollar Booster
Drafts. Open 5 boosters from the Ravnica Block and build your best
40 card deck. You can 'protect' 3 Rares, but everything else gets
destroyed when it would go to the graveyard. If you lose, you pass
your remaining cards on to your opponent (except for your 3
protected rares) , and then you can pass the time by playing in a
free $1 booster draft!
Cost: $20
Prizes: Winner of the Iron Man tournament gets all the remaining
cards, second gets 3 Lorwyn boosters, 3rd gets 2 Lorwyn boosters,
4th gets 1 Lorwyn booster, and everyone else gets to $1 booster
draft for free and a chance to win an MTG banner!
This is going to be wicked fun!

Then November 11th its a $200 cash type 2 tournament! The metagame
will be a little more settled after States, so use your knowledge to
build a deck to beat the field and win $200 cash! Details as follows:

$200 TYPE 2 TOURNAMENT

When: Sunday 11 November. 11:05 am rego. (It's Rememberance Day and
there will be a 1 minute silence at 11am).
Format: Type 2
Cost: $20
Prizes: $200 to first and some boosters for everyone else, plus
Arena League Foils.

And don't forget we have amazing $12 drafts each Thursday from 5pm
onwards, Friday Night Magic each Friday night at 6.30pm(type 2 $6),
S.A.T 14 and under Magic 2pm Saturday, constructed for $6 and $2
tournaments Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays during the school
holidays.

MTG rocks. We have a thumping range of singles, theme decks and
boosters, plus both Kieren and Chris have played the game at high
levels and can give you play and deckbuilding tips. The game has a
zillion levels of support from WOTC and has been around for around
12 years, mainly because its just a great game. If you'd like a demo
cruise in and we'll be happy to show you how its done.

THE SPOILS TRADEABLE CARD GAME

The latest TCG in AU is going fine with lots of strong Organised
Play support. It also helps that it is flat out a fun, easy TCG as
well. We have LOTS of things happening over the next few weeks,
details as follows:

SATURDAY THE SPOILS DRAFTS AND CASUAL PLAY

When: Each Saturday arvo from 2pm.
Format: The Spoils draft
Entry: $15
Prizes: Rare picks and promos plus a fun arvo of playing The Spoils
and getting the hot new cards in a fun, cheap way!

Well done to Michael Lou who won our first The Spoils draft last
Saturday, beating Danny Phung and Jason Yu.

If you are looking for a few casual games, bring your deck in on
Saturdays as well, there will be someone around for a game. And
don’t worry if your deck is short a few cards, the game is SOOO new
no one has everything, and whats good and whats not is still very
rubbery!

Sunday November 11th we’re running a sealed win-a-box tournament!
This will be a great way to start into the game! We can show you how
its done before we start, and because its sealed you have as much
chance as anyone! Details as follows:

The Following week(Sunday December 9th) we’re running another sealed
win a box tournament for people to warm up for the Good Games win a
Wii December 15 & 16th

The Spoils is an awesome game. The prize support is excellent, the
game itself looks great and plays the same, plus its funny card art
and flavour text make it a pleasure to play. The new set Children of
the Lingamorph will be release in Australia in January, with release
tournaments with electronic prizes up for grabs.

This game will be the next big thing, pop in anytime and give it a
try!

WORLD OF WARCRAFT TCG

Thursday Nights
This is our casual WoW play nights with the possibility of doing
drafts if people want. It’s a great place and time to test for
Worlds or the upcoming 1K series.

Regular Pokemon league is on every Sunday 12 noon to 3.30pm for $6

The first of these events kicks off this month.

Pokemon Elite Beats Series
Are you a total Pokemon Master looking for a more competitive
environment than League to test out your deck? Well, Vickey came up
with a new series of events for you Elite Trainers out there.

Over the next three months (November, December, January) the SGC
will run an Elite Beats Series. At each tournament, you will get
points depending on where you finish. At the end of the series, the
overall winner will get a $100 Gift Certificate to the SGC! If there
is a tie at the end of the three tournaments, the winners will
battle it out at the next League for their prize. The point
breakdown is 4 points for 1st, 3 points for 2nd, 2 points for 3rd,
and 1 point for everyone else. You must use a legal deck.
This is a bit of a test run--if we get a lot of excitement about it
we will run a series every three months!

When: Saturday 24 November.
Dates of next events: Saturday 29 December and Saturday 26 January.
(The last Saturday of every month). What: Bring a deck of 60 legal
cards and play!
Entry: $12
Prizes: There will be a two-booster per player prize pool--everyone
will get at least one booster and the rest will be divvied up
amongst the top performers. Everyone will get points towards earning
that $100 at the end of the three months!
