Hey Mad Scientists,

Last weekend was a MEGA weekend for gamers in Sydney, with the new
MTG expansion Lorwyn being pre-released by WOTC and everyone thought
the set was fine. It has a lot of love for both casual players(in
that the "tribal" theme is very prevalant)as well as tournament
players as there is a LOT of strong power cards. We also had the
first Pharoahs Tour qualifier for YGO and Kevin Luong smashed
everyone to grab the first invite from a gallant Chris Darmardi in
the final. Heaps happening this weekend as well, check out the
schedule!

NEW IN STORE: Yugioh Premier packs are in!!! This is awesome news
for duelists. These packs are ALL FOIL, cost just $9 and are selling
fast, don't miss out! Also, Tactical Evolution special edition packs
are in stock as well s]and look cool. Pokemon have there funky tins
in stock for the new season and they are very cute. The go with the
new expansion that is Mysterious Tresures which have boosters and
starters. The D&D White Dragon, which looks beautiful, is also in
stock, and the fabbo boadgame Talisman has been reprinted after 15
years or so and is selling quick.

MAGIC THE GATHERING TRADEABLE CARD GAME

As we said earlier Lorwyn is here and looks terrific. We're having a
Sneak Peek for it this weekend which is AWESOME value, details as
follows:

SYDNEY GAMES CENTRE LORWYN SNEAK PEEK

When: Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October. 10.30am rego, 11am start
both days
Format: Lowyn Sealed(each player gets a starter and THREE!! boosters
to crack and make a deck with!
Entry: $35
Prizes: Everyone wins a booster at least(plus you get to make a deck
with an extra pack as well!), plus everyone receives a promo card
and we have a t-shirt as a lucky door prize on both days!

This is a great way to get the hot new set in a fun, good value way
with a chance to win even more boosters!

The following Sunday we're having a draft tournament with the new
set. Entry will be $35 for 2 drafts with boosters and much needed
draft practice up as prizes, The next weekend is Grand Prix Brisbane
which is going to be HUGE, grab yourself a ticket and go! But if you
can't, or your just scared you can't beat SGC Player of the Year Tim
Treffer who is going on his free trip he won, then we're running a
new type 2 tournament here at 11am. Format will be 10th ed,
Timespiral Block and Lorwyn only, and will give players a great
chance to practice the new tech before the State Championships at
Bondi October 28th!

Combine all this with our weekly $12 drafts on Thursdays, our type 2
FNM at 6.30pm Friday and our 14 & under tournaments 2pm Saturdays
and there is a whole lot of MTG events to get into.

MTG is the reason we started SGC. It is a fine game, with events for
all different levels of play. We have a tonne of singles, boosters
and starters to check out, and both Field Commander Foggo and I have
played the game at high levels, so we'd be happy to show you how its
done. Cruise in for a demo now!

HEROCLIX COLLECTABLE MINIATURES GAME

This Sunday is week 3 of the Starro series of events, and Andrew
came up with a funky format!

When: Sunday 7th October. 1.30pm rego, 2pm start
Format: you get 1 booster of JLA to crack, then can add up to 200
points of your own figures to make a 400 point team!
Entry: $20
Prizes: LE's plus cracked boosters and a fun arvo of playing Clix up
as prizes

Clix is heaps of fun, with new players joining up on the back of
improved promos from Wizkidz. But forget all that, the game itself
is heaps of fun, great in one on one or multiplayer, and in a
tournament or siting around a pizza with friends at home. if you'd
like a demo cruise in anytime for a game, Obiwan or I would be happy
to show you how to play

YUGIOH TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Kevin Luong bashed everyone at Hobby League on Saturday then backed
up to bash everyone on Sunday in the qualifier. Great work Kevin!
Then Chester Swords teamed up with Reza to win Mondays Teams win a
box tournament, and Chester backed up again to win Tuesdays school
holiday tournament and the yesterday it was that man Luong again who
bashed 21 others to win Thursdays school holiday tournament. Great
dueling guys!

So for YGO with have Hobby League on Saturdays from 10am-1pm. There
are 2 events, 13 & under and opens. Entry to Hobbu League is $5 and
everyone wins a prize.

Then in the holidays we have Tuesday and Thursday tournaments which
are a mega booster grab, details as follows:

When: Each Tuesday and Thursday during the holidays. 12 noon rego,
12.30pm start
Format: Advanced Constructed
Entry: $10
Prizes: HEAPS! Prizes as follows:

Yugioh is rocking. It has a huge player base of all ages, its easy

With the National Championships just behind us WOW has beed exposed
to a new group of players who are clammering to get to our weekly
Hobby League tournaments! They are on each Saturday, details as
follows:

When: Saturdays at 2pm
Format: Constructed
Entry: Just $6
Prizes: Boosters and Hobby League promos up as prizes, plus a fun
arvo of playing WOW TCG!

We're giving out 4 promos each week regardless of how many players
we get, so this is a great chance to play a fun game and add to your
EA collection!

STAR TREK 2ND EDITION TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Last Monday we ran a funky win a t-shirt tournament and 10 intrepid
explorers tournament up to boldly go where no one has gone before.
After a fun arvo of exploring, state champ Mitchell Trent and his
team of Borgies had assimilated everyone to win! Special mention to
Eugine, Rene and April who bought our insane deal of a combo box of
starters & boosters for $49, cracked them, then made fun competitive
decks from them. It was a fun day, the next scheduled weekend event
is a win a set of reflections 2.0 October 21st. Details as follows:

Prizes: Pick of the board that will include a full set of
Reflections 2.0!!! AWESOME! No matter where you finish people will
win packs and or promos(their choice)and everyone will have a great
time.

We also play most Sundays, if we get 6 players we can run a
sanctioned event! We also play for free each Tuesday night from
6pmish. Kieren the Klingon is always here and playing, so you'll get
a game easy, plus Big Matt and Daniel rarely miss a Tuesday also.
Its a fun night of hanging out, playing Trek, trading cards and just
talking junk about a top TCG

As I said we have an amazing deal at the moment where you can get a
starter/booster combo box of either base set or Call to Arms(Borg &
Dominion mainly)for just $49! Thats 8 starters and 24 boosters for
just $49! You can then make nearly whatever deck you want and never
have to buy another pack again! Its a great game, cheap to get into,
cool people play it and is heaps and heaps of fun. The cards look
great, so it appeals to collectors as well. If you'd like a demo

you how its done.

POKEMON TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Last Sunday we ran teh Mysterious Treasures release tournament and
after 4 rounds Adam Ferguson had a 4-0 record against his name to
win his 4th straight sealed Pokemon event-fine work Adam!

Pokemon League is on again this Sunday from 12 noon till 3.30pm. Its
just $6, heaps of fun and everyone wins a prize!

NARUTO TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Naruto is on again this Saturday from 2pm. Its just $6 to play and
everyone wins a prize.

Then October 21st we're running a Naruto draft! It will be heaps of
fun, details as follows:

When: Sunday 21st October. 12 noon rego, 12.30pm start
Format: Naruto draft(you get 5 boosters to crack and make your best
25 card deck with)
Entry: $30
Prizes: Boosters and a fun arvo of playing Naruto!

STAR WARS TRADEABLE MINIATURES GAME

We play for FREE each Tuesday night, its constructed and if we get 4
goobers its DCI sanctioned!

And we are getting excited about a new sealed series of events we're
running October 20 & 27-great for new players and veterans alike,
its back to basics sealed, details as follows:

When: Saturday 20th October. 1.30pm rego, 2pm start
Format: Rebel Storm Sealed(you get 2 boosters of RS to crack and
make a 100pt team with)
Entry: Just $20 for 2 boosters!
Prizes: Winner gets 3 boosters, runner up 2 boosters, and everyone
else wins a booster just for playing! Plus its DCI sanctioned so you
can get your sealed rating through the roof!

When: Saturday 27th October. 1.30pm rego, 2pm start
Format: Clone Strike sealed(you get 2 boosters of CS to crack and
make a 100pt team with)
Entry: Just $20 for 2 boosters!
Prizes: Winner gets 3 boosters, runner up 2 boosters, and everyone
else wins a booster just for playing! Plus its DCI sanctioned so you
can see how your skills stack up against the rest of the galaxy!

These 2 events are a fine opportunity to start your Star Wars
playing career, or fill in the gaps of your set if you're a veteran
player. But above all that, it will be fun!

VS(Marvel & DC)TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Last weekend we decided to draft Marvel Legends instead of play
Modern Age, and it was heaps of fun. The guys unanimously decided to
build single team golden age decks and start playing more, so next
scheduled Just Friggin' Play series event is October 21st, and its
Golden Age

VS is fun. Its a great game, with infi strategies and awesome prize
support. We have boosters from just $2 and oodles of singles from
all sets. If you'd like a demo cruise in and ask Kieren or Chris for
a game, and they'll slip on the spandex and show you how its done
