Hey Argo Pilots!Just when you thought too many games were never enough, this
weekend, a public holiday long weekend(and yep, we're open Monday),
brings new meaning to the words over indulgence! So much happening,
the only difficult part is working out what you are going to play!
So many games, so little time, lets get on with the newsletter!
MAGIC THE GATHERING TRADEABLE CARD GAME
YEEEHARRRRR! The hot new block base set, Lorwyn, is being pre-
released this weekend and this is your chance to join in the fun and
play the funky new set 2 weeks BEFORE it even goes on sale. And to
spice things up a little, Field Commander Foggo is giving out even
MORE packs on the day via lucky dips, MTG bingo and whatever other
wacky way he decides to shed boosters with. This will be a blast,

The casual players will delight in the return of the "tribal" theme
in this set, whilst competitive players will revel in getting
practice on for the Brisbane Grand Prix October 19-21, which uses
this exact sealed format. And everyone will enjoy getting new cards
from the new set in a fun, exciting manner for a cheap price! Just
turn up on the day and Field Commander Foggo will do the rest!

Loving, the weekend after is the Sydney Games Centre Sneak Peek!
Details as follows:
Where: The place to play of course!
When: Saturday and Sunday 6th & 7th October. 10.30am rego, 11am
start both days
Format: Lorwyn sealed(you get a tournament pack and 2 boosters to
crack and make your best 40 card minimum deck with)
Entry: $35
Prizes: Everyone wins at least 1 booster plus promo card, with HEAPS
of boosters up as prizes, and practice for GP Brisbane, or just an
accumulation of the hot new cards before they go on sale. And of
course, sealed is always fun, even moreso when the set is new and no
one knows what they are doing!
Speaking of GP Brissie, well done to Vutti Sok who beat 19 others
(includinf Pradeep in the final) to claim the 3 byes last Sunday at
our GP trial. Former top Naruto TCG player Rudi Hickman showed he is
no 1 game master by claiming his first of many FNM tournaments, and
last night Gerard Dimaculangan won our weekly MTG draft.
Apart from the pre-release, don't forget our weekly Thursday night
drafts from 5pmish for just $12, our weekly type 2 FNM tournament
each Friday night at 6.30pm, and our Saturday afternoon junior
tournament for players 14 & under each Saturday at 2pm
As you can see, MASSES of MTG going in at SGC. We have a stomping
range of singles, boosters and theme decks, extensive deckbuilding
and playskill knowledge, and, well, we just love the game. So if
you'd like to try the game cruise in anytime and we'll happily show
you how its done
YUGIOH TRADEABLE CARD GAME
Last Saturday saw 30 duelists battle it out for Hobby League
supremacy and when all was said and done Michael Brancalion won the
13 and under event and YGO machine Kevin Luong took out the opens.
Great work guys! Then in our 2 player teams tournament King of Kings
beat Duelmasters Rule in the final, with Azns Rule coming in third!
There were 10 teams and everyone had a blast!
This Saturday sees the weekly hobby league again from 10am-1pm.
There is 13 and under and also open tournaments, its UDE sanctioned,
entry is just $5 and everyone wins a prize. Then at 1.30pm we kick
off our weekly 2 player teams tournament. Entry is also just $5 with
evenyone winning a prize, and having a ball doing it!
On Sunday we're launching the first of several Pharoahs Tour
Qualifier tournaments! Pharoahs Tour is an elite series event that
players must qualify for, where the winner will take home a laptop
of an amazing Champions card! The event will happen in Sydney next
January, but to get a ticket you gotta qualify first, and this
Sunday is your first chance! Details as follows
PHAROAHS TOUR QUALIFIER
When: Sunday 30th September. 10am rego, 10.30am start
Format: Advanced Constructed
Entry: $15
Prizes: Winner takes home a box of Tactical Evolution and an invite
to the Pharoahs Mall Tour! Everyone wins a booster at least, with
HEAPS of boosters up for grabs for the higher place getters
Then on public holiday Monday we're having a win a box 2 player
teams tournament! Details as follows:
When: Monday 1st October. Noon rego, 12.30pm start
Format: 2 player team constructed(Advanced format)
Entry: $10 per player($20 per team)
Prizes: Winning team takes home a box of boosters! Heaps of prizes
and t-shirts for place getters, plus a fun day of playing YGO TEAMS!
Then, starting Tuesday, our famous twice a week school hoilday
tournaments kick in again! This is a great way to sharpen your
dueling skills during the holidays, details as follows:
When: Each Tuesday and Thursday during the holidays. 12 noon rego,
12.30pm start
Format: Advanced Constructed
Entry: $10
Prizes: HEAPS! Prizes as follows:

Yugioh is rocking. It has a huge player base of all ages, its easy
to learn and more importantly fun. If you'd like to learn cruise in
on a Saturday and we'll get somebody good to show you how its done!
VS(Marvel & DC)TRADEABLE CARD GAME
Last Sunday we ran a sealed tournament for this hot new set and it
was a 3 way split between Luke Bartter, Louis Armstrong and Kenny
Nguyen for the honours. Field Commader Foggo adopted his usual
position, propping up the table...It is a great set, we're looking
forward to many fun nights of Marvel Legends drafts!
This Monday we're running the first of a fortnightly series of
events called JUST FRIGGING PLAY! Everyone has HEAPS of VS cards,
but getting everyone in the same room at the same to to play can
sometimes be problomatic, so this series is designed to be cheap
events through all formats to get players to dust off their cards,
make new decks, or dig out old favourites, and JUST FRIGGING PLAY!
Details for the first event as follows:
When: Monday 1st October. Noon rego, 12.30pm start
Format: Modern Age(will be Legions of Superheros, Marvel Team Up,
Worlds Finest & Marvel Legends!)
Entry: $5
Prizes: Marvel Legends boosters plus t-shirts and promos up as
prizes, and of course a fun day playing VS.
There will be a JUST FRIGGING PLAY Silver Age tournament October
14th, so start making decks NOW(I know you all have 2 million cards,
so use them!)
VS is a great game. We have a pumping range of singles available,
boosters starting from just $2 to $5, and premade decks from $10. If
you'd like a game cruise in anytime where Sideburn Man(Chris) or his
trusty sidekick Gooberboy(Kieren)would be happy to show you how its
done.
Also, bring in your golden age decks anytime you want, and I'll be
happy to shred it to pieces with Arkham Inmates, and Foggo will dust
off his Anti-Matter deck and give you a hiding
STAR TREK 2ND EDITION COLLECTABLE CARD GAME
Dammit, Big Matt gave my funky new Starfleet deck a bit of a pasting
on Tuesday night, so I went into the lab yesterday and made some
adjustments and now I am sure Archer and his team of goobers are
focused on the job at hand(ie NOT get assimilated!). The reason I
have done this, apart from the game being absoutely awesome and
heaps of fun to make decks with, is that Monday we're having a Trek
tournament! Details as follows:
When: Monday 1st October. 12.30pm rego, 1pm start
Format: Constructed
Entry: $10
Prizes: Heaps of boosters plus 2 t-shirts from Kierens Vegas swag to
choose from!
And whilst we get a game most Sundays anyway, the next scheduled
Trek Sunday tournament is October 21st, and the prize is HUGE!

Format: Constructed
Entry: $10
Prizes: Pick of the board that will include a full set of
Reflections 2.0!!! AWESOME! No matter where you finish people will
win packs and or promos(their choice)and everyone will have a great
time.
We have an AWESOME deal at the moment were people can buy a combo bo
of 8 starters and 24 boosters for just $49!!! That is way more than
enough to get people pretty much whatever that want to start with to
build a deck and start playing! For just $49!!! This is a great way
to start a fantastic game, and Kieren the Klingon would be happy to
show you how its done, help you build a deck with what you crack,
and then give you a game!
We play for free every Tuesday night from 6pmish until close where
people just hang out, play, trade and talk Trek! Its a great way to
test new decks, or enjoy playing old ones. And then most Sundays we
play as well, if we get 6 players we'll happily schedule a
sanctioned event if its not down for 1 already.
Trek is brilliant. The game plays like a string of episodes joined
together by the thread of your choosing. Its fun, pretty much non
combative(though if you want to take shots at your opponent and blow
them out of the skies you can!), all affiliations are fun and strong
and its incredibly cheap to get into. Come on in and try it, its fun!

DUELMASTERS TRADEABLE CARD GAME
Last Sunday we ran our first Duelmasters TCG tournament for quite a
while, and 7 players cruised in to relive the fun of it all. After 3
rounds of exciting matches Eric Gladding had a 3-0 record to take
the prizes and bragging rights, great work Eric!
Next Duelmasters event is October 21st. It costs just $5 to play,
its DCI sanctioned and everyone wins 2 boosters at least, no matter
where they finish!
We have Duelmasters for just $1 a booster, so if you'd like to try,
its an easy in!
POKEMON TRADEABLE CARD GAME
Great news for Poke players, this Sunday is the Mysterious Treasures
Release Tournament! It will be HEAPS of fun, details as follows:
When: Sunday 30th September. Noon rego, 12.30pm start
Format: Mysterious Treasure Sealed(you get 6 boosters to crack and
make your best 40 card deck with!)
Entry: $30!!!
Prizes: Promo cards, 2 boosters EACH, and a fun day of playing
Pokemon BEFORE it even goes on sale!
Our usual league will also run concurrently with this event, so it
will be a big, fun day of playing Pokemon!
NARUTO TRADEABLE CARD GAME
Our weekly Naruto tournament is on again this Saturday from 2pm. It
is just $6 to play and everyone wins a prize!
The 5th expansion is in and has made a good game even better! The
cards are cool, its heaps of fun to play and all your favourite
ninjas from the anime are represented. If you'd like to play, we
have starters, boosters and singles available, and Vickey is the
best Naruto demoer in the country. Cruise in and try it!
WORLD OF WARCRAFT TRADEABLE CARD GAME
With the National Championships just behind us WOW has beed exposed
to a new group of players who are clammering to get to our weekly
Hobby League tournaments! They are on each Saturday, details as
follows:
When: Saturdays at 2pm
Format: Constructed
Entry: Just $6
Prizes: Boosters and Hobby League promos up as prizes, plus a fun
arvo of playing WOW TCG!
We're giving out 4 promos each week regardless of how many players
we get, so this is a great chance to play a fun game and add to your
EA collection!
NEW IN STORE: One of the best ever boardgames, Talisman, has been
reprinted and re-released, and SGC has got it! The game is a classic
and one that every avid player should own. Come in and grab your
copy, it truly is a classic!
