NEWSLETTER - 26/07/2007
Hey Fairy Flossers!
What a week! Last weekend we were lucky enough to be able to get to
the MTG National Championships in Canberra and as someone who hasn't
been for around 5 years I was delighted to be involved again.
Highlights include getting out of Obiwan Foggobi's car to get away
from his iPod after 3 hours, playing a kaleidoscope of great people,
and hanging out with our travel crew of Shane Brierley, Kenny
Nguyen, Scott Smith, Jason Ly, Slinky, Field Commander Foggo, sexy
Vickey, Bronwyn Bruce, Luke Bartter and of couse the MIGHTY Allan
Sharpe, who not only is the leading MTG authority, he is also a
dancer with moves so insanely hip & funky you'd swear he has a
double jointed tummy. That guys hips are a blur of motion, and thats
just during the shuffle & cut stage. Rob Tierney of WOTC and head
just Ryan Dare did a fine job making sure the main game ran
smoothly, and Dave Low as always did a great job keeping the side
events fun, interesting and on time. To all associated with this,
many thanks from SGC.
Results wise a big well done to Tim He for coming runner up and
James Zhang for making the semis. Both are fine players and great
guys to boot and thoroughly deserve their successes. Tim is twice
champion, so I'm sure the worlds is just like an FNM to him! And of
course to Hughie Shonkopolis, great work to grind in, even if it did
mean knockin out Obiwan in the play-off game...
