Hey Move Makers,

Its been a little crazy this week with school holidays etc, so this weeks newsletter is going to be very rapid indeed. However, Chris asked me to post a special message to all our customers who like WOlfmother. The Field Commander is going to buy tix for their upcoming tour, anyone keen to go with him reply with "We love Wolfmother too EB!" and he'll put you down for a slot in his posse.

Anyway, on with the schedule

MAGIC THE GATHERING TRADEABLE CARD GAME

This weekend is it folks! Its the Magic the Gathering Games Day and MTG are celebrating by releasing the next base set 10th edition! I started playing in 3rd edition(revised)back in...whenever and never dreamt that the game would make it to 10th(didn't really care either, just wanted to play Preachers, Serra Angels and Swords to Plowshares). but here it is, complete with Pre-Releases, Pro Tours, multi-level organised play and HEAPS of players of all ages and levels. Anyway, we're on board with this exciting event, details as follows:

MAGIC THE GATHERING 10 EDITION RELEASE GAMES DAY

When: Saturday and Sunday 14th & 15th July. Individual sealed tournament 10am rego 10.30am start. 2 Headed Giant sealed 3.30pm rego 4pm start. Times for BOTH days! Format: 10th edition sealed!(you get 5 boosters of 10th to CRACK and make your best 40 card deck with) Entry: $35 for sealed. $30 for 2 headed giant per player Prizes: HEAPS of prizes, promos, t-shirts and boosters up as prizes, EVERY player will win 1 booster at least just for playing!

We'll also run booster drafts on demand. This will be an awesome 2 days of MTG rocking. It will be big, don't miss out!

The following weekend is MTG Nationals, but we're going to run a "Not The Nationals" tournament that Sunday 22nd July anyway! It'll be type 2 kick off at 11am with boosters up as prizes

Now is a GREAT time to play MTG. New base set is out, the Timespiral Block PTQ is on in August, and the new expansion, Lorwyn, is being pre-released in September. MTG is a great game with a great player base with great prize support. We have oodles of singles and theme decks and boosters you won't go wanting for choice, plus both Obiwan and I have played the game at a high level for a long time so we can give you excellent deck and play advice. If you'd like a try we have 9th ed theme decks on special for just $5 so you can start VERY cheaply, and you can buy $1 repacks to flesh it out.

VS(MARVEL & DC)TRADEABLE CARD GAME

HOT NEWS! The new expansion, DC's Worlds Finest, is in stock and running hot. We're having a sealed tournament to celebrate its arrival on Sunday! Details as follows:

WORLD'S FINEST RELEASE TOURNAMENT

When: Sunday 15th July. 12.30pm registration, 1pm start
Format: Worlds Finest Sealed(you get 5 boosters to crack and make your best 30 card minimum deck with)
Entry: $35
Prizes: Heaps of boosters up as prizes, everyone wins at least 1 pack just for playing, plus a fun arvo of checking out the new set. We'll even do a booster draft afterwards for all those keen.

Louis Armstrong and I are going to PC Indy in August so need some draft practice. Starting July 17th our VS booster drafts will start up again on Thursdays from 6.30pm. They'll be $15, UDE sanctioned and have rare picks as prizes.

VS is a great game. Its fun, exciting, well thought out and has a million different stratergies. If you'd like to learn we have pre- made decks for just $10 and we'd be happy to show you how its done. Cruise in for a demo, it rocks

YUGIOH TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Reza Azimzedah and Tasmania Weigang, semi finalists in this years YGO Nationals, both won a school holiday tournament this week, beating 40 and 25 duelists respectively. Great work guys, awesome work!

Yugioh is on again this Saturday in the form of our weekly Hobby League, its on Saturday mornings, rego is at 9.45am, tournament starts at 10am, finishes at 1pm. Its just $5 to play, UDE sanctioned and everyone wins a prize.

The next release celebration is for the new expansion, Tactical Evolution, on August 4 & 5. Details as follows:

When: Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th August. 10am registration, 10.30am start
Format: Tactical Evolution sealed(you get 5 boosters of the new set to make a 20 card minimum deck with)
Entry: $35
Prizes: Boosters to all, promo release cards to top 20 each event!

HEROCLIX COLLECTABLE MINIS GAME

YEEE-HAAARRR! The new expansion, Avengers, is IN and looks SOOO hot with its new packaging and booster format we've already sold heaps. This figures look THE NUTS and have great stats, and to enjoy the moment we're running a sealed tournament Sunday to explore the new guys! Details as follows:

When: Sunday 15th July. 1.30pm registration, 2pm start
Format: Avengers sealed(you get 2 new boosters to CRACK and make your best 200 point team with)
Entry: $35
Prizes: LE's, cracked boosters and HEAPS of fun up as prizes.

The set has been much anticipated and looks like it won't disapoint. Cruise in and check out the new pieces Sunday. the are crazy good

DUNGEON & DRAGONS MINIATURES

Last week the new expansion, Night Below was release, and we went to run a sealed tournament for it but didn't spread the word fast enough, so only 1 player, Carl, turned up. But the legions of dungeon crawlers who come along anyway decided that they wanted to play sealed this Tuesday, so who are we to argue? So Tuesday 17th July we're running a sealed D&D minis tournament. Details as follows:

When: Tuesday 17th July. 6pm rego, 6.30pm start
Format: Night Below sealed(you get 3 boosters to CRACK and make your best 200 point team with)
Entry: $50
Prizes: WOTC promos and a fun evening of playng Night Below!

STAR TREK 2ND EDITION TRADEABLE CARD GAME

This Sundays event has been postponed due to TOOO many thangs on, it will now be July 29th! Details as follows:

Format: Constructed
Entry: $10
Prizes: Heaps of boosters up as prizes, plus a fun arvo of playing TREK!
We also play TREK every Tuesday night from around 6pm. Its fun, its free, you can trade, bring decks old and new and just hang out and have fun. There is usually 5 of us guaranteed playing and there is always room for more, I can even GIVE you a deck if you'd like to try.
Trek is awesome.I'm going to play the World Championships in Indianapolis in August and I can't wait. Its heaps of fun, balanced, a well thought out game system and the cards look schmick. Cruise in and ask Kieren the Klingon for a game, it rocks.

NEW IN STORE

Players choice sleeves are now back in stock. 10th edition boosters and theme decks are available as of today and WOTC have done a grand job of packaging the new gear. It is sexy. D&D's Night Below is also in stock, as are Yugiohs Invasion of Chaos and Force of the Breakers special edition packs. VS new expansion, DC's Worlds Finest, is also in stock and makes me a very happy camper. The new games Transformers and Star Wars constructable figures games are both in and looking fine.

Thats it for this week, next weekend we'll be rocking down to Canberra to see either Shonky Jim Bandas, Darth Cornford or People Champion the MIGHTY Allan Sharpe become National MTG Champion!
