NEWSLETTER - 29/06/07
Hey Burwood Shufflers,
SOOO much stuff happening at the moment, but this weekend is one of
the ones I've been waiting 11 months for-its the 2007 Star Trek CCG
Australasian Continental Championships! Its also my mums birthday,
but I'm gonna have to cancel dinner on Sunday...Guys from Perth,
Brisbane and locals from Sydney, including sexy girls, are
converging on SGC this weekend for a 3 day Trek fest starting
tonight. Plus we have a reelase tournament for the latest Pokemon
expansion, Diamond and Pearl, on Sunday, at the same time as The
MIGHTY Allan Sharpe is giving a MTG drafting exhibition in our type
2 draft tournament. Limited seats still available.
Anyway, for all these details and more, READ ON!!!

so if you just want to have fun playing your usual constructed deck,
thats cool too. Entry to the league is just $6 with everyone winning

Diamond and Pearl is the first Poke expansion in AGES to release NEW
pokemon into the game, so this expansion will be hotter than
anything in the last few years. So if you want the new guys, cuter
than ever, cruise in this Sunday and check them out. And remember,
you gotta catch them all!
MAGIC THE GATHERING COLLECTABLE CARD GAME
Great work from Ash Cartwright to win last Sundays Player of the
Year event. Ash beat the always competitive Pat Pepper in the final,
with Shonky Jim Bandas showing that old age and treachery will most
often overcome youthful skill and exuberence to come in third.
Player of the Year standings will be updated after this weekend.
With only July and August to go before our top 8 play-off in
September, things are getting interesting!
I can't remember who won our 2 drafts last night, but the store was
rocking way into the night and everyone had a good time. Then
tonight its Friday Night Magic at 6.30pm, its type 2 and FNM foils
and boosters are up as prizes, then Saturday afternoon everyone will
be ginning for Edward Lee, last Saturdays MTG 14 and under champion.
14 and unders is HEAPS of fun and a great way for younger MTG
players to hone their play and deckbuilding skills against people
their own age. Its at 2pm, costs just $6 and everyone wins a prize.
Then on Sunday its one of the funkiest MTG tournaments I think we've
run, its a type 2 block DRAFT!!! Details as follows:
When: Sunday July 1st. 11am rego, 11.30am start
Format: Draft!(you play 3 round Ravnica Block draft, then 3 rounds
Timespiral Block draft, then a Coldsnap top 8 draft final!)
Entry: Just $35!!!
Prizes: Heaps of boosters up as prizes(plus top 8 get free draft
final)plus a mega fun arvo of drafting MTG!
Draft tournaments are always fun, this should be no exception
Then, for the diary, our MTG gameday 10th edition release tournament
is on July 14th & 15th at 10.30am both days! Entry is just $35 for a
festival of MTG funkiness! No pre-registration needed, just rock on
in and have fun.
Now is a great time to be playing MTG. The game is the oldest TCG,
some would say the best, and still keeps getting better. We have
HEAPS of starters, boosters and tournament packs, as well as
singles, available and both Field Comamnder Foggo and I have over 10
years experience at playing and teaching MTG at high levels. If
you'd like a demo cruise in, it rocks
