Hey Super Heros!

Last weekend Field Commander Foggo showed his chivalrous side to his gorgeous girlfriend, Mistress of Lerve Vickey, by ordering her lunch whilst she was on her way to the shop on Saturday so it would be waiting for her when she arrived. And it was. The problem was, however, that even though they have been together for nearly 2 years, and they have lunch together EVERY Saturday, Obiwan still didn't know Vickey didn't like (or eat for that matter!) fish & chips! The only thing that prevented the situation from being a complete disaster is that Foggo is a worshipper of lard, and he does eat fish & chips. And as it happened on Saturday, twice...

The more tech savvy of you may have also noticed we are having problems updating our website. We're doing our best to fix this, so please keep checking it event few days. You might get a surprise!

POKEMON TRADEABLE CARD GAME

This is IT!!! This weekend is the 2007 National Pokemon Championships, and we can't wait! It is a full weekend of Poke funkiness, including a fun unlimited tournament Friday night! Details as follows:

Nationals is FREE for both days!!!
Prizes: For the Unlimited Tournament boosters and some special prizes from Vickey!
For the Nationals winners of each age group win a TRIP TO HAWAII TO REPRESENT AUSTRALIA AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! Plus trophies to the top 4 place getters in each age group, and HEAPS of boosters up as prizes for all.

This will be an AWESOME Pokemon weekend-the biggest of the year, and the entry into the main event is FREE!!!

We have some loan decks we're happy to lend people if they want to cruise in and try, or if they have a friend who they want to bring along and teach how to play. It will be awesome, don't miss out!

YUGIOH TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Last weekend we had the release celebration of the new expansion, Force of the Breakers, and as expected we sold out our 48 slots. Everybody had a fantastic time and rated the new set very highly. The events were won by Egon Cardenas and Sheldon Chu in the morning session, and Tasmania Weigang and Reza Azimzedah in the arvo session. Superjudge Andrew Li once again did an awesome job, and showed he is one of the best Yugioh judges in the world!

This Saturday our usual weekly Hobby League tournament isn't on because of the Pokemon Nationals. But the Saturday(May 19th)after we're back into it again! Doors open at 9.30am for a 10am start, it goes till 1pm,

And the next (and final!) Yugioh Regionals at the SGC is on May 27th! Details as follows:
There will be 4 last chance qualifiers at Nats though, on Sat the 9th.
If you have already qualified, you can still play in these to win a box of boosters. There will be lots of out of town players trading and playing in these last chance qualifiers, so come along to trade and scout out the other decks.

Format: Advanced Constructed
Entry: $15
Prizes: Winner gets a box of boosters, plus top 8 receive a HOT YGO playmat and invites to the 2007 National Championships! Heaps of boosters to top 24 at least, plus a fun day of playing YUGIOH!

This will be a festival of Yugioh. It is the first time Sydney has hosted the Nationals since Gamescape 2004, and will more than likely be another 3 years before it comes back to the harbour city again-so don't miss out!
And just reminding everyone that we play our Hobby League tournaments each Saturday morning from 10am till 1pm. Its just $5, has both open and 13 & under age catagories, is UDE sanctioned and everybody wins a prize.

MAGIC THE GATHERING TRADEABLE CARD GAME
Last weekend we had a funky 2 Headed Giant tournament and after 4 rounds had a 3 way tie for first! Well done to teams Wizards of the South Coast, Double K and last 2HG champs The Mooks for having a 3 way split for first! Everyone had a fun time and were very enthusiastic over the inclusion of Future Sight into the format. Those comments bode well for all those looking forward to the next major event, the Pro Tour San Diego Qualifier! Details as follows:

STAR TREK 2ND EDITION COLLECTABLE CARD GAME
Last Sunday was the 2007 Territorial Championships and a world highest 16 players converged on SGC to boldly go where no one has gone before for the day. And it was great. After 5 rounds, defending champion Mitchell Trent went 5-0 to make it back to back NSW titles with his Federation deck. Will Hoyle and 2006 National Champion Clayton Walton came in equal second, both using Ms Jameway and her Voyager crew, and Ben Wynn, the man who first taught me the awesome game of Trek 3 years ago, finished third using Sisko and his DS9 team.Kieren the Klingon, using his Klingon brothers, had a character building day, finishing 10th, but having a ball. The best is yet to come...
Next Sunday tournament is another great one, we're having a win a set of Genesis tournament May 27th. Details as follows:

The 2007 Continental Championships is on at Sydney Games Centre and will be a 3 day Trek festival! It will be on Friday June 29th till July 1st. We're running a series of learn to play days in June to build up to the event, and we're also having fortnightly Tuesday night casual play nights for Trek we're you can learn the game, try out new decks, dust off old ones and talk and trade the amazing game that is Star Trek 2nd edition. Trek rocks. It is a fun,easy to play game that is on a worldwide upswing. It plays like several episodes rolled into one and blends great balance and card mechanics. You can get the beginner pack which is a starter of your choice and 3 boosters for just $10, and then you're away, and there is a heap of people happy to show you how its done, and donate a few cards to help tune your deck. If you'd like a game, cruise in and see future 2007 World Trek Champion Kieren the Klingon for a demo.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT TRADEABLE CARD GAME
Last Sunday we had a win a box of Dark Portal and VS Pro Circuit Sydney semi finalists Jonathan Luey who took out the prize, going 4- 0. Jonathan, as I have said previously, is one of the nicest game players in Sydney, so it is always a pleasure seeing him do well. Great work Jonathan! On Saturday our Hobby League went off and was heaps of fun, I just cannot remember who won! But whoever it was, good job :)

Next Saturday is our weekly Hobby League again. Its $6, UDE sanctioned and has boosters and Through the Dark Portal promo cards up as prizes. The next weekend tournament is on June 3rd, and its a Lazy Peon tournament. Details as follows:

Format: Lazy Peon, meaning its commons and uncommons only

WOW is a great ccg. It looks great, plays great, has fine support from UDE and is in just its second expansion. If you'd like a demo cruise in anytime for a game, it is heaps of fun

VS(Marvel & DC)TRADEABLE CARD GAME

I'm going to Gencon to bash people at the Pro Circuit with Arkham Inmates in August, anyone wanting to split a room is welcome :) But before then, we have LOTS of VS funkiness to dish out, beginning with a Random Punks tournament May 20th. Details as follows:

When: Sunday 20th May. Noon registration, 12,30pm start
Format: Random Punks(decks can only have commons and max of 8 uncommon cards)
Entry: $5
Prizes: Boosters, promos and a fun arvo of playing VS in a cool format

Then May 27th we have a MEGA sealed tournament. Players get 2 card pools, details as follows:

Format: VS sealed(players get 5 boosters of HoG to make a 30 card minimum deck with, then play 3 rounds. Then players get 5 boosters of MTU to make a 30 card minimum deck with, play 3 rounds, then we go to a top 8 draft final!)

Prizes: Winner takes home a box of Marvel Team Up!!! Boosters, t- shirts and a fun day of playing VS are up as prizes.

VS kicks. Its a great game. We have a pumping range of singles, boosters, and starting off decks from $5. If you'd like to give it a try cruise in anytime for a game.

HEROCLIX COLLECTABLE FIGURES GAME

There is no Clix this weekend as its the Pokemon Nationals, but the following Sunday we're running a mammoth 600 point tournament! Details as follows:

Prizes: Boosters and limited edition figures are up as prizes, plus a fun arvo of playing CLIX!

Clix is HEAPS of fun. Its a fine, well designed and very funny game played by some really cool people. We have random lucky dip boosters for just $2 to kick you off with, plus a hot range of boosters. If you want to have a go, and I highly recommend it, cruise in anytime for a game.

NARUTO TRADEABLE CARD GAME

It was business as usual for Rudi Hickman last Saturday when he won our weekly Naruto tournament and started off the May league in fine style. Well done Rudi!

Naruto is on again this Saturday afternoon at 2pm. Entry is just $6, results go towards our monthly league and everyone wins a prize.

This months double league event will be Saturday May 26th, constructed, then we're having a sealed win a box(for regular points) on Sunday May 27th. Naruto is a great game, and is Field Commander Foggos favourite game of choice at the moment. If you'd like to have a go, cruise in and ask him or Vickey for a demo

If you're looking for a warm up event, or you just like playing these games, we run free DCI sanctioned tournaments each Tuesday night. Its fun and thanks to Big Rob Tierney at Wizards we generally have promo figures for all.

These games are easy to learn and cheap to get into. If you'd like a demo cruise in on a Tuesday night and roll some dice, you'll have a good time doing it!

NEW IN STORE

The new Yugioh expansion-Force of the Breakers, is now in stock(came in about 15 minutes ago). Also we have restocks of Zane, Astar and Jaden Yuki duelist packs. Magic's new expansion, Future Sight, is also in stock in the form of boosters, Fat Packs and Theme Decks. Naruto's third expansion, Curse of the Sands, is in and selling stongly. And the next expansion for Star Wars Minis is due out May 25th, just in time for our extravaganza :)
