Hey Space Cadets,
A HUGE weekend of games occured last weekend, with YGO Regionals, a Star Trek win a box and MTG Sneak Peeks making grabbing a table last Sunday a diplomatic mission. But helping make it all run smooth was Field Commander Foggos insistence of playing the soothing tunes of Wolfmother throughout the afternoon, giving a little bit of bop on the day from the innovative inner city trio
. HEAPS happening again this weekend, details as follows:
YUGIOH TRADEABLE CARD GAME
Last Sunday was a massive YGO day with Bodan Temyk duelling his way to the Regionals final against Central Coast player David Frost to win the penultimate 2007 Nationals season qualifier. Well done Bodan! This Sunday we're hosting a release celebration for the new expansion Force of the Breaker. Details are as follows:
When: Sunday May 6th. Morning flight 10am registration, 10.30am start. Afternoon flight 2.30pm rego, 3pm start
Format: Force of the Breakers sealed(you get 5 boosters to crack and make your best 20 card minimum deck with)
Entry: $35
Prizes: Everyone wins at least 1 FOTB booster and an older booster just for turning up. Top 20 in each flight win the promo card for the new set(places limited to 24 per flight) with more boosters going to top 8. Plus a MEGA fun day of playing YGO with the new cards a week before they go on sale

We are limited to 48 people for this event(24 in the morning, 24 in the afternoon)so if you want to play cruise in and pre-register and pay at Sydney Games Centre asap. At the time of writing we have just 2 spots left for the morning flight and 16 for the afternoon flight, so if you'd like to play in this funky event, get a wiggle on!

For all those who turn up and miss out on the release celebration we're running a constructed tournament to help make up for the disapointment. Details as follows:

For those who don't make the Nationals, don't despair, we're running 4 win a box tournaments parallel to the Nationals starting at 10am. Details as follows:

This will be a festival of Yugioh. It is the first time Sydney has hosted the Nationals since Gamescape 2004, and will more than likely be another 3 years before it comes back to the harbour city again-so don't miss out!
And just reminding everyone that we play our Hobby League tournaments each Saturday morning from 10am till 1pm. Its just $5, has both open and 13 & under age catagories, is UDE sanctioned and everybody wins a prize.

With the release celebration of the new expansion this weekend, the final Regionals for this season on May 27th, the 2007 Nationals on June 9 & 10th, now is an amazing time to be a Yugioh player. If you're a former player, dust off the deck and come in for a game and recapture some of the old moves. For new players, you've chosen a great time to become a duellist, so many exciting events on the horizon you're in for a blast!
MAGIC THE GATHERING TRADEABLE CARD GAME
No real surprises at last weekends Sneak preview of Future Sight, The MIGHTY Allan Sharpe went 4-0 to dominate the Saturday Sneak Preview, whilst Pradeep Widana-Pathirana went 4-0 to win the Sunday event. Everybody LOVES the set and the great news is it goes on SALE TODAY!

Last Thursday night The Shonk Jimmy Bandas won the draft, on Friday Kelvin Ong won FNM and on Saturday Peter Yang won our 14 & under tournament. Great work guys!

This Sunday we're running a PTQ San Diego warm up event, a sealed 2 Headed Giant! Details as follows:

WORLD OF WARCRAFT TRADEABLE CARD GAME
The new expansion, Through the Dark portal, is now legal for tournament play! That is very, very cool as this opens up a kaliedescope of new deck designs and options for players, and they will be showcased this Sunday when we run our first win a box of Dark Portal tournament! Details as follows:

Format: Standard Constructed(with DP!)

Prizes: Winner gets a BOX of Through the Dark Portal! Boosters, EA's and a fun arvo of playing WOW up as prizes

WOW is a fine TCG. The game is HUGE, the cards are very sexy and a fun, casual player base plays the game in fine spirit. If you'd like a demo, cruise in anytime, its heaps of fun

STAR TREK SECOND EDITION COLLECTABLE CARD GAME
Last Sunday current NSW State Champion Mitchell Trent won our win a box tournament, beating his delicious girlfriend Shannon Mullane in the final, with current National Champion Clayton Walton third. 10 players battled for control of the galaxy, and a fine time was had by all.
This Sunday is a day I have been hanging out for for some time, its the 2007 NSW Territorial Championships! Details as follows:

THE 2007 NSW STAR TREK TERRITORIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
When: Sunday 6th May. Noon Registration, 12.30pm start
Format: Constructed
Entry: $10
Prizes: HEAPS of boosters, promos plus the winner gets 2 byes for Day 2 at The World Championships! This will be an awesome event-it always is-plus Trek is a MEGA fun game so cruise in and play! If you email me soon enough I can probably build you a deck if you'd like to try. The Trek community is very helpful and friendly, the players would be happy to show you how its done, even if it means beating them! We also now play friendly, casual Trek each other Tuesday night from around 6pm. Its free, its fun and you can try out new deck ideas or tinker with old ones. Our first night 2 weeks ago saw 5 players cruise in and play, the next date is Tuesday 8th May and there should be even more goobers in attendence. We can even run a tournament if enough people are keen! Trek rocks. It is my favourite game, I am going to Gen Con Indianapolis in August to play the World Championships, thats how much fun I think it is. If you'd like to try, cruise in anytime, we have learn to play decks you can have, plus I can show you how good the game actually is. And we have the National Championships here at SGC June 29th-July 1st, learn soon and you can be apart of the Nationals fun!
POKEMON TRADEABLE CARD GAME

The weekend of the 12 & 13th of May is the 2007 Pokemon National Championships right here at The Sydney Games Centre! Details as follows:

Date: Saturday, 12 May 10am to 6pm with lunch break.
After Party from 6pm to 9pm.
Sunday 13 May from 10 am til we finish--we will finish by 6pm. There will be fun side events on the Sunday as well as the top cut playoff.

First place in each age group gets an invitation to Worlds in Kona, Hawaii, USA. Airfare will be provided to each winner in the three age groups: 10 and under, 11-14, and 15 and up. If the winner is under 18 airfare will also be provided for their parent or guardian. Accomodation in Kona is also provided for the winners. You do need a passport to travel to America.

This will be MEGA! Start practicing Pokemon now, you could find yourself in Waikiki beach!

Pokemon is fun and is Mistress of Lerve favourite game, and it shows with the level of commitment she puts into making all events big and small fun and successful. If you'd like to learn how to play, cruise in to SGC Sunday afternoon and we'll show you how its done!

NARUTO TRADEABLE CARD GAME

Congratulations to Phunky Steven Phung who won the awesome Naruto statue and the April League last Sunday by winning our double point sealed tournament. Well done Steven! The event itself was heaps of fun with everyone having a blast, and the surprise was regular Naruto winner Rudi Hickman having a bad day, finishing 8th!

A new league for May starts this Saturday at our regular Saturday afternoon tournament. First prize is still under wraps, but Mistress of Lerve Vickey assures us it will be awesome! This Saturdays details as follows:
