Hey Good & Evil Geniuses,

Heaps and heaps happened last week at SGC and this weekend is
shaping up to be the same with 1 mega important diffference-THE
AIRCONDITIONER IS FIXED!!! For how long, who can say, but it is a
very cool tempreture at the moment when people are melting outside,
so that makes us happy. EB Foggo is not happy about the reduced
drinks sales though...

Just to make everyone aware the shop opening hours are as follows:

December 23rd: 9.30am-6pm
December 24th: 11am-6pm
December 25th & 26th: Closed
December 30th: 9.30am-9pm
December 31st: 11am-6pm
January 1st: Closed

So there we go. Plan your games around those hours. For more info on

YUGIOH TRADEABLE CARD GAME

It's the last Winter Regionals for the 2006-2007 season this Sunday,
meaning its the last chance to qualify for the June 2007 Nats this
year! This will be a BIG tournament, details as follows:

When: Sunday 17th December. 10am rego, 10.30am start
Format: Advanced Constructed
Entry: $15
Prizes: Winner gets invited to 2007 Yugioh Nationals in June next
year plus a box of boosters! Heaps of boosters to top 24 at least,
pretty much everyone wins a pack just for playing!

The buzz in the room is always phenominal on these days. Heaps of
trading, lots of duels(the main tournament finishes around 5pm, top
8 starts then)and the chance to win heaps of prizes, and have fun
playing your favourite deck!

Our school holidays tournaments have also started each Tuesday and
Thursday from noon. Entry is $10 with the following prize payouts:

1st: 8 packs Lost Millenium 8 packs Shadows of Infinity
2nd: 6 packs Lost Millenium 6 packs Shadows of Infinity
3rd & 4th 4 packs Lost Millenium 4 packs Shadows of Infinity
5th-8th: 2 packs Lost Millenium 2 packs Shadows of Infinity
9th-16th 1 pack Shadows of Infinity
16th + 1 pack Lost Millenium

As you can see-HEAPS of boosters up for grabs, come in and try! Its
a great way to spend the holidays!

And finally on Yugioh don't forget the weekly mega Hobby League
tournaments every Saturday morning 9.30am-1pm. Entry is $5, there is
open tournament and a 13 and under tournament, boosters and promos
up as prizes, and its heaps of fun. We get around 50 players each
Saturday morning and all of them win a prize!

MAGIC THE GATHERING COLLECTABLE CARD GAME

Last Sunday The Mighty Allan Sharpes apprentice Clarrie Brown went 5-
0 to win our Sydney 500 warm up and take home boosters plus FREE
entry into the Sydney 500! Our next 3 Friday Night Magic tournaments
will all give the winner a round 1 bye into the Sydney 500 as well,
so cruise in to SGC's FNM. its from 6.30pm Fridays and is only $6 to
play. This months FNM foil is the VERY saucy Fire/Ice!

This Sunday its our monthly Legacy Tournament, details as follows:

LEGACY TOURNAMENT

When: Sunday 17 December. 11am rego, 11:30am start.
What: Constructed Legacy--so every card (except the banned ones)
from every set is fair game!
Entry: $10
Prizes: Arena League foils and a prize pool of 2 boosters per player!

We're running a second Sydney 500 type 2 warm up event Sunday 24th
December then the BIG cash event, the 5th Annual Sydney 500 will be
on SATURDAY DECEMBER 30TH! Details as follows:

THE 5TH ANNUAL SYDNEY 500!

When: Saturday 30 December. 10am rego, 10:30am start.
Format: Type 2 Constructed.
Entry: $20
Prizes: First prize gets $500 cash and a trophy! Boosters to top 16
at least. This also doubles as our PLAYER OF THE YEAR event for the
month, and we're putting up DOUBLE POINTS for it! This is going to
be a blast, don't miss out!

And for all the draft addicts out there we've added an additional
draft night to the week AND dropped the price! We're now drafting
from 6pm both Tuesday and Thursday nights and its just $12 a draft
set!!!! This is UNBELIEVEABLE value and represents a great way to
hone your drafting skills AND get the hot cards from Timespiral at a
REALLY cheap price!

And finally on the MTG front we're running our usual school holiday
tournaments at SGC Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1pm. Entry is
just $2 with store credit up as prizes.

PS-just for the diary. The pre-release for the next MTG
expansion "Planar Chaos" is on January 21st and 22nd!

VS(MARVEL & DC)TRADEABLE CARD GAME

A MEGA weekend last weekend as The Ben Secks expansion, Legions of
Superheros, hit the store in the form of 4 Sneak Previews. And those
who got the hang of the set fastest and won were Luke Bartter, Luke
Bartter(AGAIN!), Luke Bartter(OK this is getting silly now)and, have
a guess-LUKE BARTTER! Luke won all 4 Sneak Previews, which is enough
to make you chew your own foot off! But well done anyway, 16-0 over
a weekend with 4 different cardpools is a fine effort!

This weekend we're running an unsanctioned VS Silver Age tournament
using the new set so players can check out the goodness. Details as
follows:

UNSANCTIONED SILVER AGE TOURNAMENT!
When: Sunday 17 December. 12pm rego, 12:30 start.
What: Silver Age Constructed(cept Man of Steel is out and LOS is IN!)
Entry: $10
Prizes: There's a two booster per player prize pool plus a fun arvo
of playing the format the next pro Circuit Sydney will be!

And if anyone out there is looking to learn VS we have a top learn
to play day coming up. Details as follows:

When: Saturday 23rd December. From 1.30pm till 6pm
Format: Fun!
Entry: Free!
Prizes: You get to learn a fun CCG which has insane prize support
(UDE are bringing a Pro Circuit event worth 250K US to Sydney in
March!)plus meet new gamers.

That afternoon around 4pm we're running a new players sealed
tournament. So you can use your new found playskills to play your
first sanctioned event and win prizes REALLY cheaply! Details as
follows:

When: Saturday 23rd December. 4pm-6pm
Format: Sealed(you get 5 boosters of your choice to make a 30 card
minimum deck with)
Entry: Just $15 for your 5 packs!!!
Prizes: Winner gets a JLA or Avengers gift tin set worth $50! Plus
boosters to other players(everyone will win a prize)to get you're VS
career off to a flying start.

We also play Hobby League Friday nights from 7pm and Silver Age
Saturday from 1.30pm Saturday arvos. Entry to both events is just $6
with boosters and foil promos up as prizes.

VS rocks. The Pro Circuit is coming, the gameplay is terrific, the
prize support is insane and a great bunch of players make it a great
community. The learn to play day is obviously a great day to learn,
but if you can't make it then cruise in anytime for a game. We have
pre-made decks available for just $10 which will easily get you

WORLD OF WARCRAFT COLLECTABLE CARD GAME

Last weekend we ran our monthly win a box tournament and Conor
Holmes had a BIG day, not only winning the box tournament but
backing up and winning the draft as well. Great work Conor! And on
Saturday SGC regular Adrian Capitlitan won our weekly Hobby League
tournament. Lots of fun had by all, the game is good.

WoW drafts on tonight, then its Hobby league from 1.30pm Saturday.

NARUTO COLLECTABLE CARD GAME

The latest anime game is NEARLY about to release its second
expansion in Sydney. Coils of the Snake is due in over the next few
days, hopefully we'll have it for the weekend.

In regular Naruto news Kenny "Le Bon" Nguyen went 3-0 to win last
Saturdays Naruto tournament, and picked up a gold rare for his
efforts. Great work Kenny! Naruto is on again this Saturday at 2pm.
Entry is just $6 with cracked boosters up as prizes, with hopefully
some cool promos coming shortly!

Naruto is a very fun game. The cartoon series is one of the best
ever and its vast popularity means that the game will go on for a
long time. This is the chance to start playing a well designed, well
presented TCG with a cool bunch of prizes at the ground level, and
as Mistress of Lerve Vickey is now in charge of Australian Organised
Play for the game you know that we'll get access to all the hot
Naruto promo goodness they put out. If you'd like to learn Naruto
cruise in on Saturday arvos for a demo, we can even lend out a deck
to play in the tournament, and we have a fine folder of Naruto
singles you can use to pump up your decks with!

STAR WARS COLLECTABLE MINIATURES GAME

Last Tuesday night the dark horse Daniel Waller bashed everyone,
much to their surprise, and his own, to go 3-0 and win our weekly
Star Wars minis tournament. Daniels timing was brilliant as it was
the first week in ages since we had league kits in from WOTC, so he
even got to take home a promo figure! Well done Daniel!

Star Wars minis is on again next Tuesday night. Its fun, its FREE,
and we'll have some more promo figures up as prizes.

The game is dead easy to learn and its heaps of fun. if you'd like
to try, its free to play and the guys will be happy to lend you an
army to play with on the night. We have a full range of boosters
available for sale, and the players have heaps of trades to help you
finish your collection.

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS COLLECTABLE MINIATURES GAME

Our now weekly(by popular demand!) D&D tournament was run and won
last Tuesday by first time tournament player James Bozinis! James
won promo minis and epic cards for his efforts, but more importantly
everyone had a great time. James beat the highest ranked Star Wars
minis player in the country Richard Myors into second with John
Sausa finishing 3rd. Thanks to funky Rob Tierney from WOTC we had
prize support which made everyone feel especially warm and fuzzy,
which is always nice.

D&D minis is on each Tuesday night from 6.30pm. Its fun, free and
counts towards your DCI ranking!

STAR TREK 2ND EDITION COLLECTABLE CARD GAME

One of my favourite games didn't happen last weekend as a variety of
regular players couldn't make it, so we're just running the same
event this weekend instead! Details as follows:

STAR TREK EXTRAVAGANZA(day 1-sealed)

An entire weekend of boldly going where no one has gone before...

When: Saturday 9 December. 12pm rego, 12:30 start.
What: Sealed--get a starter and two boosters of your choice, plus 2
Reflections booster to make a draw deck and dilemma pile with.
Entry: $15.
Prizes: Winner gets a box of whatever booster box is the latest, and
lots of boosters are up as prizes!

Then the Rolls Royce of Card Tournaments, the day 2 constructed!

When: Sunday 10 December. 12pm rego, 12:30 start.
What: Constructed.
Entry: $15.
Prizes: Winner gets a box of whatever booster box is the latest,
Decipher foils and lots of booster are up as prizes!

Trek is the nuts. It is a fine game, with excellent looking cards
and a fun group of ensons who play the game. If you'd like a demo
cruise in anytime for a game, I can even give you a deck! And the
best news is that most boosters start at just $4 each! How cool!

POKEMON COLLECTABLE CARD GAME

Pokemon league is on again this Sunday from noon. Because its a
league you don't need to be right on time, and you can leave
whenever you like. Its up to you who you play against, the quest is
on to get league points which you can redeem for POP packs and
bagdes.

Pokemon league is HEAPS of fun. Its casual, the kids who play love
it, and its only $5. Everyone wins a prize, cruise in and have a go!

HEROCLIX COLLECTABLE MINIATURES GAME

A very close run tournament last Sunday and we're getting these wild
reports from the players that Taasi won!!! If this is the case, and
I believe it is, GREAT WORK TAASI!!!

This Sundays Clix will be 200pt armies. We kick things off at 2pm,
entry is just $5 with LE's and cracked boosters up as prizes.

Our weekly EDGE tournament is on again tonight from 7pm. Details as
follows:

When: Thursday nights from 7pm
Format: Standard Constructed

Prizes: Alternate paint job figures and cracked boosters up as
prizes, plus a fun night of playing Dreamblade!

OK-Great stocking fillers. We have decks of Trumps up for just $5!!!
These are great prezzies as the game is a standard schoolyard game.
