NEWSLETTER - 10/08/06

Hi Gamma Quadrant Explorers,

We're still kicking people out from our birthday celebrations last weekend, however we've somehow lost Field Commander Foggo, last seen wearing a red funny nose(well, we THINK he was wearing a red funny nose), a party hat and his "Ewoks do it Better" boxer shorts, and not much else out the front of the Green Olive deli at around 11.46pm talking to a taxi driver about taking him for a vegetarian kebab. If you've seen Field Commander Foggo this week, please return him to Level 1, 195a Burwood Rd Burwood asap. We need him back.
Last weekend was a blast, its what we opened a shop for in the first place. The store was full of people playing a variety of different games laughing, mingling and having fun enjoying the draw of the cards, roll of a dice and the challenge of strategy. To all those who popped in to create the fine vibe over last weekend(and pretty much any weekend whilst we're at it!)a sincere thanks.

Lots and lots, as usual, happening this weekend, lets check it out!

MAGIC THE GATHERING: Last weekend was 2 celebratory events for MTG, Saturday saw the temporary insane cruise in for some $20 sealed madness. After 3 rounds draft regular Hugh Rayner proved he was just a smidgen more unbalanced than everyone else by going 3-0. Well done Hugh! Then on Sunday we had a FREE type 2 double elimination tournament that saw a solid 24 players throw their hat in the ring for. A few surprise knock outs happened early, and those who made it through the first 2 rounds breathed a sigh of relief that The Mighty Allan Sharpe was unable to attend(he was doing a fashion shoot for the summers bonds boxer shorts range with Sarah O'Hare). At the business end Andrew Bennett, Vutti Sok and Rhys Gould all were x-1, with Rhys beating Vutti to take the day. Its was HEAPS of fun, it won't be the last event like this we'll run.

This weekend its time for those with Pro Tour aspirations to flex their muscles in the first of 2 Sydney Pro Tour Kobe qualifiers.
