NEWSLETTER - 01/09/06

Hey Kristel from Croftminster Fans,

Obiwan Foggobi: the very name conjures up images of a man who won't date chicks from certain suburbs. Won't live in certain suburbs. A vegetarian who loves Peking Duck. Loves Wolfmother. Well, shortly the name will conjure up immense fear (yes, even more than his iPod playlist does)as Field Commander Foggo prepares to enter the world of Horror Clix! Why did Foggo choose this game? Well, the figures look cool, it plays like heroclix(which is awesome)and Chris can look like a 1920' scary person without having to change his outfit. Horror Clix will be on Thursdays, but more details later on.

I would also like to thanks The Mistress of Lerve Vickey, SuperJudge Paul Ross and Mega YGO judge Marc Losper, as well as SGC regular savior Tony Chung for helping us out over an extremely hectic weekend last weekend. Seriously, we couldn't have done it without you guys, many thanks.

OK-as last weekend was so hectic we have OOODLES of results to report. And more is happening this weekend, so check out the following:

It goes onsale at Supanova October 27-29th but Chris Zandides is coming in Sunday 3rd September around 2pm to demo this exciting new game at SGC to all those who are interested. The cards look great, and the game mechanics are very easy for ccg players to pick up. It will be an enormous game globally with the release at Gencon Indy breaking all expectations and records. If you’d like to see this game in action, Sunday arvo is the time to get a sneak preview of it!

HORROR CLIX: Wizkidz BRAND NEW GAME has finally arrived at SGC and it looks SOOOOO good its not funny! The game is based on the 1930's kinda horror/adventure movies that are fun to watch when you're drunk with friends eating pizza, and the figs look REALLY good. The gameplay is very similar to Heroclix, in fact Big Daddy tells me the 2 games are about 80% compatable. We're having a release tournament for this excellent game next Thursday night, details as follows:

D&D MINIS: Last weekend was the Sydney Challenge and we had a great response from players cruising in to try their warbands at a higher level. On Saturday Damien Browne shredded all before him going 4-0 to win the Giant Red Dragon, and on Sunday Big Daddy used his mind controling green tea to go 4-0 and win the big red dragon. Well done both!

On Sunday it was young up and comer General Maul(Ebubiker Clark)who went 3-0 to win sealed and take home the walker. What makes this so cool is that Ebubiker is around 8 years old and plays with his dad Stuart at home for practice(he beat his dad in round 1!)Great work General Maul, I hope this makes up for missing out on pocket money for the next month.

We play a constructed Star Wars minis tournament each Tuesday night at 6.30pm. Entry is free, its DCI sancyioned and LOTS of fun.

Well, thats it for this week-LOTS happening! Until next time smile and play nice
