The Legend of the Five Rings (L5R) CCG is set in the Empire of Rokugan, a fantasy world based on feudal Japan. The history of Rokugan is an epic saga of samurai and courtiers, ninja and masterless ronin, magic- wielding shugenja and enlightened monks, kami spirits and elemental dragons, demons and gods...all played out in the card game and told by the players themselves.

L5R is the original story-based CCG where fanatically loyal players fight for the glory of their clans, with their actions and tournament results creating the story. It is one of the most enduring CCG's, twelve years old and still going strong. It is loved by players worldwide for the strength of its player community, the richness of the world and story, and the multi-layered, strategic challenges of its game play.

Events

The game is entering an exciting new phase with new streamlined rules and a story arc that will determine who will be the next Emperor of Rokugan in the Race for the Throne, a running tally where players gain points for their clans not only through tournament results but roleplaying, fan fiction, artwork, card design, charity events, donations and more. Never before have players had so much influence over the world of L5R.

Rokugan 2008! (and maybe the Honor Veil PreRelease!)

It is that time of year again, my maties. Here is the schedule:

Friday 18 January: either booster draft or HV prerelease - $25.00 - $50.00 (depending on event). The totally unofficial NSW draft/sealed deck Championship

Saturday 19 January - at Brent's Samurai 40/40. The (unofficial) Official NSW Championship plus social play, BBQ, swimming, drinking, and a side tournament of some sort. If you don't know Brent yet, rock up to one of our L5R nights...he is super nice.

Sunday 20 January - Most likely will be held at the SGC. (details will be posted here soon). Official NSW Open Championship The trophy has been found and you have your chance to get your name on it!
Then some fun event like pinning the tail on the unicorn player (with a nail gun. What? It's a sport!) or a 2nd Honor Veil pre-release event.

Fortnightly Legend of the Five Rings
When: Every other Friday at 7pm. Next few dates are 4 January, 18 January, 1 February, 15 February, and 29 February.
What: Usually a 3 Pack Booster Draft and some casual play.
Entry: $15

When: Every other Friday at 6pm, before the booster draft.
What: Learn to play this great game and set to work influencing world events!
